He is credited with having built from zero an industry-leading consumer finance business for Chinatrust and for having transformed PCIBank from a purely corporate and commercial lender into a major player in mortgage loans, auto loans, and small/medium-enterprise lending.

Joey holds a master’s degree in Business Economics and a bachelor’s degree in commerce, major in accountancy. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a recipient of an outstanding alumnus award from his collegiate alma mater. He attended the Pacific Rim Bankers Program of the University of Washington.

The company has since expanded into mortgage banking (as wholesale mortgage originator for Maybank Philippines and BDO Universal Bank), residential development (through its numerous mass housing projects in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and the Visayas), and leisure development (through its ongoing five-star hotel condominium project called "Acacia Grove" in Alabang, Muntinlupa City). CHMI was recently engaged by a sovereign government in Oceania to develop a National Housing Policy and Program for the country.
For more than three (3) years, Noel was a business development consultant to Laguna Properties Holdings, Inc. where he provided strategic and professional advice in support of the Ayala Group’s objective to maintain its premier position in the housing industry.
Despite his hectic entrepreneurial routine, Noel finds time to serve his collegiate alma mater where he once served in the Board of Regents and organized the scholarship foundation. Aside from helping his former school, Noel has played a leading role in the conceptualization, creation and launching of the Philippine Retirement Industry. Currently, he is a director of Philippine Retirement, Inc. In 2006, he chaired the Philippine Retirement Industry and Investment Summit. He is also a pillar of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association of the Philippines (SHDA) where he previously served as National Chairman and National President. During his tenure as SHDA President, he successfully pushed for wide-ranging reforms in the housing industry, including the liberalization of housing finance. Today, he serves as Board Adviser of SHDA and Treasurer of the SHDA Guaranty Fund.
Noel holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, major in accountancy.

Currently, Chito is director of Cybersoft Data Networks, Inc. (a content management company), Total Transcription Solutions, Inc. (a medical transcription and online learning firm), Cyber Hunt Limited Hong Kong (a value added service provider in China), and Schuylkill Asset Management, Inc. (an asset management firm).
Chito worked for ten (10) years with Citibank, N.A., where he handled various assignments in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. His last assignment was Vice President and Head of Citibank Cebu, covering the geographic business in Visayas and Mindanao. From Citibank, he joined the Philippine Commercial International Bank (PCIBank) where he assumed a senior role in corporate banking before being appointed First Vice President and Head of the bank’s retail banking business in Metro Manila. After six (6) years in PCIBank, he left corporate life to become an entrepreneur.
In recent years, Chito’s company established a presence in China through a venture providing value added services to the telecommunications industry using digital mapping, location-based services, multi-lingual call center operations, wireless technologies, points of interest and content management.
Chito holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration.

After his stint with the bank, he organized Premier Mortgage Company which provided financing for homebuyers and property developers. For almost twenty (20) years, he was President of Cinmar Realty and Investment, Inc., a full service property firm serving Los Angeles County. He organized and led several limited partnerships doing property development such as apartment buildings and custom-built homes. As President of American Overseas Investment, he assisted several Filipino-Americans and Chinese investors find excellent opportunities for investments in the American property market.
In the late 1980's, he was a recipient of an “outstanding Filipino businessman award” from the Filipino community in Los Angeles. Rene was an active member of the National Association of Realtors in the U.S. and the Commercial Marketing Group in Las Vegas.
When Rene moved back to the Philippines, he immersed himself in microfinance and small/medium enterprise lending in Mindanao. There, he sought to upgrade the lending practices of local financial institutions.
Currently, Rene is President of Premier Real Estate Investment and Development and President of Ethan Spencer Property Management.
Rene holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration. He attended a Property Management Course at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and a masteral program at the Commercial Real Estate investment Institute in Los Angeles.

He came home in 1993 and spent the next six years at the Philippine Commercial International Bank (PCIBank) where he managed corporate relationships and developed industry-leading cash management products for top-tier corporate customers. His achievements in building the cash management business at PCIBank attracted the attention of Deutsche Bank Manila which invited him to head the latter’s Global Cash Management Sales in the Philippines. Subsequently, Gerry was hired by Chinatrust (Philippines) Commercial Bank Corporation, the local subsidiary of Taiwan’s biggest privately-owned commercial bank, to start the bank’s cash management business. Today, Chinatrust has unique franchises in debit cards, internet banking, and remittance distribution.
Aside from creating a robust cash management business for Chinatrust, Gerry also organized a top-calibre marketing team whose achievements in brand-building, product innovation, and product promotions earned for the bank “Superbrand” status. In the year it was rolled out, the bank’s website, developed by Gerry’s team, was nominated for a “best website” award by a leading industry group.
He was later promoted to Head of Sales and Distribution and became responsible for managing the sales efforts of the entire branch network, particularly building the low-cost deposit base and integrating the cash management products into the branch product arsenal.
After a very rewarding stint with Chinatrust, Gerry was hired by Export and Industry Bank as Head of Branch Banking. In this position, he integrated the sales and operations functions in the branches, directed the nationwide deposit and revenue generation of the branch network, revved up sales volumes through an effective incentive scheme, achieved operational efficiency, and improved service delivery. For nearly a year, he concurrently headed EIB Savings Bank, a microfinance institution, in Talisay, Cebu. He left the bank in 2008 and became an entrepreneur but he stayed focused on his key areas of interest: retail banking, cash management, marketing, and product development.






Joey A. Bermudez has thirty-two (32) years of experience in banking and finance. For more than six (6) years, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Chinatrust (Philippines) Commercial Banking Corporation, the local subsidiary of Taiwan’s biggest privately-owned commercial bank. Prior to his Chinatrust stint, Joey had assumed senior roles in major financial institutions.
Noel S. Gonzales is a mortgage banker, housing and leisure developer, financial advisor and corporate business consultant. Currently, he is Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Holdings Management, Inc. (CHMI), a company that started as a financial advisory firm twenty-four (24) years ago helping medium-sized enterprises and large corporations raise funding from major commercial banks.
Rene M. Cinco has over thirty (30) years of experience in mortgage banking, residential and commercial property development, property management, and commercial finance, mostly gained in the United States, particularly in California and Nevada. Rene honed his mortgage banking skills at Great Western Bank in California.
Gerry V. Munda has 23 years of banking experience. Luis M. Sumabat has immersed himself in business process outsourcing (serving corporate customers in North America and China), and in financial advisory/asset resolution business (serving major commercial banks in the Philippines) in the last ten years. Before he turned entrepreneur, he was a banker for sixteen (16) years.
Encik Aziz Peru is a highly respected international banker with over three decades of experience. While his wealth of banking knowledge is broad and comprehensive, he is especially passionate about financial marketing and sales. Before organizing his own company, he spent many years as a senior banker in Malaysia’s biggest financial institutions.
His last corporate stint was with Ambank Group, one of the leading financial institutions in Malaysia, where he was Senior General Manager and Head of the Sales Division (Retail Banking). Spending most of his banking career at Maybank Berhad, Malaysia’s biggest, most innovative, and most successful financial institution, Encik Aziz’s exceptional talents stood out as his professional responsibilities progressively expanded. He was appointed General Manager of the Branch Operations Division in 1995 with primary responsibility for managing the entire branch network (business performance, risk management, resources, operations, and services). In this assignment, he distinguished himself by building a strong sales culture and creating an award-winning dedicated sales team made up of financial executives focusing on bancassurance.
His role in the Maybank organization became even more critical when he was appointed General Manager of the Consumer Banking Division in 1999 with overall responsibility for the strategic management of the consumer and retail portfolio consisting of consumer loans, credit and debit cards, deposits, stock/share trading facilities, bancassurance, and electronic banking.
Taking cognizance of his capabilities as a banker, the Ambank Group hired him in 2002 as Senior General Manager to develop and implement for them a bancassurance business model.
Because of his important contributions to the banking industry, he was appointed Chairman of the Rules Committee of the Association of Banks of Malaysia. He held several other positions such as Board Member of Mayban Property Trust, Member of the Visa International Marketing Advisory Committee for Asia Pacific, Board Member of the Kuala Lumpur Clearing House, and Board Member of Mayban Trustee Berhad.
Encik Aziz became a banking professional after obtaining his Higher School Certificate in Malaysia. He attended various courses at the Harvard Business School, the Singapore Institute of Management, the Industrial Bank of Japan, and the Pacific Rim Bankers Program of the University of Washington.
He is presently the Chief Executive Officer of As-Salihin Trustee Berhad, a company engaged in the Will and Trust business in strategic partnership with commercial banks.

Tong Hon Keong has 33 years of banking experience. At Maybank, the largest financial services group in Malaysia, he held senior management positions in various functional areas such as planning, management information services, marketing and business development, information technology, and operations.
As Chief Information Officer in Maybank from 1993 to 2004, he led the implementation of several major systems application projects such as the highly popular internet banking platform (Maybank2u.com), Group CIF, Customer Relationship Management system, Branch Sales system, and Customer Contact Centre system. He was also responsible for fast-tracking the systems integration in three bank merger exercises, as well as successfully completing the largest IT outsourcing program in the country. As Executive Vice President for Centralized Operations, he was responsible for raising service delivery standards and efficiency through business process improvement and service level benchmarking.
Tong has also played an active role in the Malaysian banking industry’s initiatives. Notably, he was Chairman of the Automation Committee of the Association of Banks in Malaysia for eight years. From 1997 to 2006, he was the Chairman of the Executive Committee and Alternate Board member of the Malaysian Electronic Payment System Pte Ltd., the country’s inter-bank payment infrastructure. During this same period, he was also on the Board of MEPS Currency Management Pte. Ltd. Currently, he is a Board member of Mayban Trustee Ltd., a position he has held since August 2002.
Since leaving Maybank in October 2006, he has been active in consulting and training. With his extensive knowledge, varied experience and track record, he has been awarded several consulting assignments in strategic planning, operations review and performance management which were all successfully completed.
Tong holds a bachelor’s degree in Analytical Economics. He attended the Pacific Rim Bankers Program of the University of Washington, and the Advance Management Program at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

At the age of 28, Ronnie migrated to the United States and worked with Bank of America as a Production Officer in its mortgage lending division. Later, he also worked with various regional banks in a managerial and executive capacity in both the residential and commercial lending arena.
At the height of the recession in the U.S. in the early 90’s, Ronnie found the opportunity to establish his own real estate and mortgage lending business. He also ventured into healthcare, transportation, and business consulting. Taking advantage of the recession to reinvent himself, he pursued advanced education in the prestigious Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at the Claremont Graduate University in California. He earned his certificate and master’s degree at the Drucker Institute in Executive Management in 1992 and 1994, respectively.
Ronnie is not only an entrepreneur; he is also a humble community and church servant. He is an active leader of the National Cursillo Movement in the U.S. where he is Regional Coordinator and the sole Filipino member of the Cursillo National Secretariat. Likewise, he is a senior member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church finance committee in Chino Hills, California. An active and dedicated Rotarian, he was a multiple recipient of the Paul Harris award for his international projects. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association in the U.S., the National Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California and has an approved California Finance Lender’s license.
Aside from his master’s degree in management, Ronnie holds a bachelor’s degree in business, major in Economics and minor in Banking and Finance.
